KSAALT welcomes renowned author John Hughes as the Plenary Speaker of the Eighth Annual KSAALT Conference.

First Plenary Session: Critical Thinking in an Age of Screenagers

In an age when many of our students receive their information in English via screens and social media, the skill of ‘Critical thinking’ is enjoying a resurgence in education. In this workshop, we’ll establish an accessible definition of the term and consider why it’s relevant to ELT. We’ll also try out a range of practical classroom activities that develop critical thinking skills through language teaching.

Second Plenary Session: Integrating Technology into Your Course book and Daily Teaching

This session takes a pragmatic look at how teachers can integrate online tools and technology into their daily teaching. We’ll look at the structure of a typical course book lesson and consider how and where to add in activities using online video, image and recording tools, online surveys and quizzes, wikis and blogs. This practical session is aimed at teachers who are techno-phobes or techno-geeks. Both types are welcome!
